Our Story
From Nature. With Love.
Frogs & Ferns began with a simple question: why is it so hard to find a lip balm made from things you can actually pronounce?
The Founder
From raw materials to a magical tube of balm.
My name is Hiedi, and I started Frogs & Ferns with my handicapped son in my kitchen in 2026 after years of frustration with what products we could make to support others. One day,I flipped over a tube of lip balm and found a list of ingredients that read like a chemistry exam.
For several years now, I have looked to natural products for medicinal purposes rather than taking prescription drugs. This move lead me to a whole new world of essential oils and their healing properties. That knowledge became the foundation of every balm we make. With my son by my side, I wanted to start a business that he could be involved in and feel accomplished. Taking the time to measure out each ingredient just so precisely is just what he needed. He is Autistic and loves precision. He so delicately handles all the ingredients and processes so gingerly. His excitement after completing a batch of balm excites him to want to make more.
Every batch is still made by hand in small quantities, so I can stand behind every ingredient and every tube that leaves my business.

Our Mission
Honest ingredients. Nothing hidden.
We believe skincare should be simple, transparent, and kind — to your skin and to the planet. Every ingredient we use is chosen for a reason, and we'll always tell you what that reason is.
100% Organic
Every ingredient is certified organic. No synthetic fragrances, no parabens, no fillers.
Small Batch
Made in limited runs so every jar is fresh, intentional, and crafted with full attention.
Cruelty Free
Never tested on animals. Always tested on willing friends and family who give very honest feedback.
Botanically Sourced
We work with small organic farms and ethical foragers to source our plant ingredients.
Sourcing
Where our ingredients come from
We source beeswax from a small family apiary in Vermont, shea butter from a women's cooperative in Ghana, and most of our botanical extracts from certified organic farms within 200 miles of our studio.
When we can't source locally, we choose suppliers who share our values — fair wages, sustainable harvesting, and full traceability from field to jar.
